Beckett grading costs $17.95 per card on Base with subgrades, the cheapest tier open on 15 September 2026, and $34.95 on Standard with a 45-business-day estimate. Express is $79.95. Beckett’s notice that day states pricing is unchanged from its published table, although beckett.com itself was offline and submissions went through a temporary form.
This page puts the published BGS fees next to what was actually open in September, the extras that change the bill, what the fee buys on the label, and how the same card compares at CGC and PSA. Fees come from Beckett’s table read on 21 August 2026; availability comes from its notice read on 15 September 2026.

What works while beckett.com is offline#
A temporary form
New submissions go through a temporary form. Beckett says totals shown there are not final: it verifies each order and confirms the price at invoicing.
Existing orders continue
Orders already received keep moving through grading and authentication, with email updates in place of the usual online order-status tools.
Plano, Texas, in person
Drop-offs and pick-ups continue at Beckett's headquarters by appointment, and event submissions are still accepted where Beckett offers them.
Account access, the population report, price guides, marketplace and registry are among the tools Beckett says may be unavailable until its platforms are back. If your decision depends on BGS population data, that is worth knowing before you choose Beckett this month.
BGS extras: subgrades, autographs and relabels#
| Extra | Fee |
|---|---|
| Subgrades added to a card that grades 10 | +$3 |
| Autographed card | +$5 |
| Oversized card | +$8 |
| Relabel | From $9.95 |
These come from the same August table as the tier fees.
What the BGS fee buys on the label#
Beckett grades in half steps across the whole scale, from 10 Pristine and 9.5 Gem Mint down to 1 Poor, and prints four subgrades — centering, corners, edges and surface — next to the overall grade. At the top sits the Black Label Pristine 10, which requires 50/50 centering on the front and 55/45 or better on the back. How that compares with a PSA 10 or a CGC Pristine 10 is in PSA vs BGS vs CGC.
Subgrades are the part of a BGS fee that buys information: they tell you which of four categories cost the card its grade.
Beckett vs CGC vs PSA on price#
Cheapest open tier and the next tier up at each company, as of 15 September 2026:
| Company | Cheapest open tier | Next tier up |
|---|---|---|
| Beckett | Base with subgrades · $17.95 · 75+ business days | Standard · $34.95 · 45 business days |
| CGC | Economy · $20 · 90 working days | Standard · $55 · 10 working days |
| PSA | Standard · $59.99 · 90–100 business days | Priority · $79.99 · 70–80 business days |
Beckett is cheapest at the bottom of the ladder; CGC is fastest in the middle. The full CGC list is on CGC grading cost, and PSA’s, including its paused Value tiers, is on PSA grading cost.
Before you submit#
List price is the smallest part of the decision. Check whether grading pays at all in is it worth grading Pokémon cards, measure centering with the centering calculator — the Black Label needs 50/50 — and use how to get cards graded for the submission itself. What the card is worth raw comes first, and Pokémon card value explains how to find it.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Beckett grading cost?
Beckett’s published fees are $14.95 per card for Base without subgrades, $17.95 for Base with subgrades, $34.95 for Standard, $79.95 for Express and $124.95 for Priority. The table was read on 21 August 2026, and Beckett’s notice on 15 September 2026 states that pricing remains unchanged.
How long does BGS grading take?
Beckett estimated 75 or more business days for Base, 45 for Standard, 15 for Express and 5 for Priority when its table was last readable. Its September notice says turnaround estimates are not being extended as Base and Standard reopen, and that estimates are counted in business days and are not guaranteed.
Why is beckett.com down?
Beckett took beckett.com and its mobile app offline for infrastructure upgrades, and on 15 September 2026 submissions ran through a temporary form. Existing orders keep moving through grading, while account access, order-status tools, the population report and price guides may be unavailable until the site returns.
Is BGS grading cheaper than PSA?
On list price, yes. Beckett Base with subgrades is $17.95 per card against PSA Standard at $59.99 on 15 September 2026, and Beckett Standard at $34.95 quotes 45 business days against 70 to 80 for PSA Priority at $79.99. Whether the holder resells as well is a question fees do not answer.
Do I have to pay extra for BGS subgrades?
Subgrades are four scores for centering, corners, edges and surface printed beside the overall grade. Base is the only tier Beckett sells both ways, at $14.95 without and $17.95 with them, and Beckett adds a $3 fee to any 10 where subgrades are added.
When is Beckett not the right choice?
Beckett is the wrong choice when a card needs to reach buyers who pay most for another company’s holder, or when you need to track the order online. With beckett.com offline, order tools may be unavailable, and Beckett confirms final totals only after it receives and invoices the submission.
